How To Lose 5 Pounds Of Belly Fat

Losing belly fat (also known as abdominal fat) is about more than looking good. While, for many, dropping a few pounds from the stomach will help them look and feel better, it also will help protect against serious conditions such as diabetes and heart disease. If you're finding it hard to lose belly fat then you're simply a victim of information overload or worse still, the wrong information being fed to you. This article is the start of a new you.

1. As mentioned earlier, complex carbohydrates are essential for the body, and eliminating carbohydrates should not be part of your plan. Eating whole grain or multi-grain breads is the best way to incorporate these in your meals. 'Brown' bread is not whole grain bread. Ensure you find the right breads for this purpose. Avoid rice, pasta, bagels, and other foods made of refined flour. Brown rice, however, is a healthier option for rice lovers.

2. Fat is stored-up energy. To lose fat, you need to burn energy. An exercise program with cardiovascular and weight training will help burn fat the fastest. A minimum of 30 minutes a day is recommended, but 60 minutes is best. Try to mix up your cardio and weight lifting with a variety of workouts to keep it fun and to keep your muscles "guessing," or adapting.

3. Try a large bowl of oatmeal with almonds and cinnamon. This will get your system used to burning lots of calories and ready to take on whatever you have during the day. Increasing your metabolism in these ways will help your system to burn that unwanted belly fat far more quickly.

4. Foods that have lots of artificial ingredients and chemical preservatives will make you fatter. Here's why...They prevent your liver from filtering out fat, which is its primary function. When you eat chemical laden foods your liver needs to filter out all the harmful impurities to protect your body, and in that process it takes away from its true function of getting rid of fat. So instead of filtering fat out it stores fat around your waistline while it is processing all the nasty chemicals out of your body.

5. Beans are excellent sources of fiber, and iron, both of which are essential for good health. The fiber, particularly helps in keeping the belly fat away. The beans that you can include in your meals are soybeans, lima beans, kidney beans, and even chick peas. This does not include baked beans or re-fried beans. Beans are best eaten when thoroughly boiled, and can even be included in a salad.

6. Be patient. It takes time to lose fat. Your belly fat may not disappear overnight; it may not even be the first area of fat that disappears, but eventually it will have nowhere to hide. Keep eating right and exercising, and you will burn not only that belly fat, but other kinds of unhealthy fat, too, which will lead you to a happier, healthier and longer life.

7. Many people try to lose weight through starvation. In reality, this simply adds fuel to the fire. If your body is deprived of food, it will naturally store food, specifically the hard to burn fat, in your cells. It's a survival method, so it cannot be helped. However, if you tell your body that food is in abundance by eating regularly, the opposite happens. By eating smaller snacks more regularly throughout the day, your body is continually burning the calories from the food and you'll lose weight naturally through eating alone.
